The dinner began with opening remarks from AmCham Kuwait’s Chairman- Pete Swift, who welcomed guests, their families, and the U.S. Military service members as he thanked the Office of Military Cooperation and the U.S. Embassy for their participation and support for this event. Swift spoke about the role of AmCham Kuwait since 1985, as AmCham Kuwait has been fostering relationships between the U.S. and Kuwait through its many initiatives as the oldest American Business Council in the Gulf Region. “Christmas is a wonderful holiday that we tend to spend together with our loved ones and friends. It is also a time of giving, communion, and being grateful for what we have.” Swift stated.
Swift gave a very special thanks to AmCham Kuwait’s Chairman’s Club members who have been supporting them strongly throughout the year. He said, “We truly thank them for their patronage, as without them we wouldn’t be able to expand our operations in the way that we have been able to. Our advocacy efforts are heavily reliant on our members’ support.” He then thanked each of the Chairman’s Club members starting with the 4 champions: GOFSCO, KGL, KRH, and Lockheed Martin. He expressed his thanks to each of them for their crucial support. He also thanked the members for their time, efforts, and engagement toward the Chamber’s initiatives.
Followed by remarks of gratitude, the event sponsors were recognized. The first recognition was provided to the event’s gold sponsor presented to AmCham Kuwait’s Champion and Chairman’s Club member - Lockheed Martin, represented by Frederick Clarke (Country Representative). Lastly, the Platinum Sponsor’s recognition was presented to AmCham Kuwait’s Chairman’s Club Members - The Bridge Co., represented by Dana Al-Majthoub (Chief Operating Officer).
During the event, the United Service Organizations (USO), provided goodie bags to the U.S. Military service members and thanked them for their service.
To conclude the event, the AmCham Kuwait team held a trivia activity in which guests had to answer questions to win raffle prizes. The first raffle gift sponsors for this event were The Sultan Center which provided three fresh fruit baskets. The second raffle prize consisted of two chocolate baskets with goodies from Towell Holding’s Bustan Khaleeji. The third raffle prize included two vouchers from AlMulla Exchange for lunch or dinner at a restaurant in one of the 5 stars hotels of Kuwait. The fourth raffle of the evening included 6 vouchers from Venture Food’s China Garden and Farm Brown, the fifth raffle prize to follow was provided by the Crowne Plaza Al-Thuraya City Hotel-Farwaniya with a free entry for their Friday Brunch. For the last prize, the Crowne Plaza provided a complimentary room for one night for two people with breakfast provided.
To finalize, Swift thanked everyone for participating in the Christmas dinner and wished everyone happy holidays. A photo session with the raffle gift winners and AmCham Kuwait’s Chair concluded the event.
